Shop Materials

Here at High Pass Body Jewelry I only make jewelry with the finest materials.  Everything you find in my shop is safe for body piercings.  Below you will find the names, types, and other helpful details about each material available in this shop.  All jewelry is finely made with intricate attention to detail, wear-ability, and durability.

METALS

316L Stainless Steel

Commonly called as Surgical Steel or 316L SSS, is a hypoallergenic metal alloy that never tarnishes.  316L Stainless Steel is an alloy (mixture of a variety of metals). It has very trace amounts of nickel that does not irritate most who are sensitive.

Titanium

Titanium is a nickel free metal that never tarnishes and is completely pure (not an alloy, not mixed with other metals).  The titanium I use is for wires is Grade-1, commercially pure, producing a light matte gray color in its natural color and shiny silver when polished.  Both of these finishes are available in my shop.  Wearing natural titanium has benefits that eliminate irritating elements like certain finishing polishes that may irritate the most sensitive skins.  I have had 100% success from hundreds of customers wearing natural titanium!  The titanium I use for barbells is G23, which is the hardest of all titanium grades.  Titanium can be anodized into many different colors.  Anodizing is a process where the niobium is dipped in water with an electrical current passing through.  Different voltages of electricity produce different colors.  This creates a refractive crystalline layer on the top, which makes the metal appear a different color.  There is a possibility you can wear un-anodized titanium and yet be sensitive to anodized titanium.

Niobium

Niobium is a nickel free metal that never tarnishes and is completely pure (not an alloy, not mixed with other metals).  It has a natural dark silver color and can be anodized into many different colors.  Anodizing is a process where the niobium is dipped in water with an electrical current passing through.  Different voltages of electricity produce different colors.  This creates a refractive crystalline layer on the top, which makes the metal appear a different color.  There is a possibility you can wear natural niobium and yet be sensitive to anodized niobium (I am!).  I use Type 2 Niobium in my shop.

Platinum

Platinum is a nickel free metal that never tarnishes, in a bright silver color, and a pure metal.  The type of platinum I use is 950.  Platinum is a wonderful option for those with sensitive skin who love a white gold color or too sensitive to wear 316L stainless steel.

14k Yellow Gold

14k yellow gold used in my shop is nickel free.  It's a gold alloy, which means it's mixed with other metals to increase its durability.  All yellow gold used in my shop is made from recycled gold to help minimize any impact on the environment.  Keep in mind that while the yellow gold fill offered in my shop is nickel free,  other origins may be comprised of other metals that include nickel.

14k Rose Gold

14k rose gold, also called 'pink gold,' contains trace amount of nickel.  The rose gold I use is compliant with European regulation. It's a gold alloy, which means it's mixed with other metals to increase its durability.  All rose gold used in my shop is made from recycled gold to help minimize any impact on the environment.

14k White Gold

14k white gold contains nickel and copper.  White gold may not be compliant with European regulation, so check with your country before ordering if you live in a European country. It's a gold alloy, which means it's mixed with other metals to increase its durability.  All white gold used in my shop is made from recycled gold to help minimize any impact on the environment.

14k Palladium White Gold

14k palladium white gold is nickel free alternative to regular white gold. It's a bright white-silver color and a perfect option for those who love the color of white gold.
